Pastor Duncan McLellan
Senior Pastor

Pastor Duncan McLellan joined St. Paul as Senior Pastor on October 2, 2016.  He grew up in Fairfax, VA, attended Mary Washington College where he graduated in 2000 and graduated from seminary in 2005. He spent five years in Lincoln, NE, before moving to Bridgeville, PA, where he was Senior Pastor at Zion Lutheran Church for six years. He received his Master of Arts in Religion from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in May 2016. Pastor, Alissa and their two children are excited to make Ankeny

Pastor Aaron Hannemann
Associate Pastor/Church Planter

Pastor Aaron Hannemann grew up in Lincoln, NE.  He graduated from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis in May, 2015.  Besides telling people about Jesus, Pastor Aaron enjoys spending time with his wife, Kaela and 1-year-old son, Jonah.  He also enjoys crossfit, hunting, fishing, and pretty much anything that gets him out into God’s beautiful creation.  If you would like to get in touch with Pastor Aaron, you can email him at pastoraaron@stpaulankeny.org

Kathy

Kathy Olson
Administrative Assistant

Arkay_Brown

Arkay Brown
Choir Director

Arkay has been a member at St. Paul since 2010 and currently serves as Chancel Choir and Special Music Director.  She grew up on a farm in Gowrie, Iowa, and has been an Ankeny resident for the past 14 years.  She graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree from Iowa State University in 2003, and then became the band
director at Dallas Center-Grimes High School for 7 years.  Since 2010, Arkay has been a stay-at-home mom to
James (6) and Anna (3) while teaching
a studio of private clarinet, piano, and voice students.  She is married to her husband David, who is a 5th grade
band director at Ankeny Community Schools.  In addition to music, Arkay enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, and baking.

Jon

Jon Jero
Handbell Choir Director

Jon was born in Elgin, IL but grew up in Marshalltown, IA. He served as Music Director for Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Des Moines, IA for 12 years before moving to Ankeny and joining the St. Paul congregation. Jon enjoys playing music with several local jazz and classical ensembles, rooting for the Cubs and spending time with his wife, Candy, and his children, Andrew and Clara.

Kathy

Kathy Sievers
Journey Service Worship Leader

Kathy Sievers leads music worship at the Journey service. The music is uplifting, contemporary Christian. She has been playing/ singing in the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church since high school. It was at Iowa State that she became a fan of contemporary Christian music and she graduated from ISU with a degree in music. She was a member of The Kuhlmann Sisters who recorded over 10 CDs with original songs and arrangements. They performed across the nation, with symphonies and have sung on many commercials, The Kuhlmann Sisters have also published numerous Christian children’s songs.
